She is an active soccer player, and all around athelete. I do though think that drinking protein shakes could help her excel and help with muscle development and fatigue. I'm not trying to make her a power lifting champ or anything but would like to give her a healthy drink with more protien than Ovaltine. These products work for me but am not sure about my daughter. I wouldn't want give her something that is bad for her body. The products I am talking about are from GNC. They are mostly whey protein drinks. Anybody have a clue?

She's not too young to drink protein shakes. If she's as active as you say she is, then they can only help her. If she has more protein in her system, then she will be able to put on more lean muscle (while not looking like a 'power lifting champ') and become stronger so that she can play her sports and activities better than ever. And besides, they're full of vitamins and minerals so they can't do any harm. Hope that helped.

Since she's not training to be a powerlifting champ, she doesn't need to overdo it with her protein intake. But a handful of healthy and reasonably high protein meals per day is healthy for anybody, especially and athlete trying to gain a little bit of lean muscle. A protein shake each day as one of those "meals" is fine. Just make sure that she follows a reasonably intelligent diet and she'll be crushing that soccer ball in no time!

the human body can not differentiate between amino acids derived from a protein shake or a piece of chicken. protein is protein, the only difference between sources of proteins is the biological value (BV). this is the actual amount of proteins that are made biologically available after digestion. protein drinks are 100%, then whole eggs and milk, then fish, meat/poultry, then nuts and seeds.

the only thing that you need to check is the amount of sugars that may be in the protein supplement. I would only use whey protein or a blended protein is even better as the proteins are digested much slower than whey. just no weight gainers as they are high in sugars.

Power shakes are very overrated and not even beneficial unless you are a bulk mussel builder and actually require massive amounts of protein. Most people can build adequate mussel on 4 ounce of protein a day.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Protein drinks are full of vitamins and minerals so there wouldn't be any harm done.

Whose car is it? It is against the law, at any age, to allow a drunk person to drive a car (whether or not you are in it). However, if the teenager did not allow her mother to drive, and is merely a passenger, then I do not see the problem. Of course, if the mother crashes and the teenagers dies, then she cannot become a police officer. To become a police officer, she has to stay alive. To stay alive, she has to stay out of the car. Her age and whether it was voluntary do not matter; if she dies, at any age, for any reason, then she loses the ability to become a police officer.

I'd say she was only just becoming old enough to drink them, providing she doesn't over do it (like half recommended Adult intake of it)...... check the packaging to see if it says anything about it.
