I've known this guy for around 3 yrs. We've never really been close friends but there has always been that chemistry between us. A couple months ago he started text messaging me. We would chat almost ever night. He finally asked me out on a date but it went terribley. I don't have the same feelings i once had for this guy but he keeps texting me. He's not a bad guy I just do want to be involved with him any more.

There is nothing wrong with ending a date with " Lets just be friends" you need to let him know you do not feel the same way and don't let him hanging on to something that is not felt by you. Doing this will only make things worse for you and him. If you think he is not a bad guy then don't treat him like one.

Tell him you didn't enjoy the date, that you no longer want to chat and wish him well.
Then don't accept any more messages.

Just tell him that you are not interested in anything more, you might hurt his feelings but it is better than leading him on.

happened to me too - i just slowly answered his text -messages
down to - "i'm sorry i've been very busy lately....." things like that.
i know it's not the most mature thing to do, but i don't like to hurt peoples feelings
