If the scarring is quite bad, I think dermabrasion would help...it takes away top layer of skin. Other than that...brewers yeast tablets from health food shops have been shown to have some good effects.

For severe acne you can take antibiotics from your doc. You need to take them for a few months but they are extremely effective....however you may want to consider side effects from these and having to take them for so long.

Hope that helps.

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.
7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.

The secret is never to touch the spots

Tips on how to treat acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days?

Palmer's fade cream works really well in smoothing out the complexion. Depending on your skin tone, it may not totally remove the dark spots, but it will make them less noticiable. Nadinola works well, too. If you have a dermatologist, don't hesitate to ask about fade creams. If the derm is not familiar with black skin, they may not realize that some pimple will leave a dark spot whether you pick at it or not, so don't dispair... just ask for what you need.

One more thing... be sure to apply the fade cream to the spots only... unless you are going for the michael jackson bleach out look...

Im not black, so I'm probably not going to help you much. But with me, being white, I know when I pick at acne, it causes discoloration, redness, and sometimes dark red...this could be what is happening. Do you pick, if so stop, hygene will help so they won't reappear. Scarring again is from picking and the damage you do from pushing on your delicate facial skin. If you pick, stop, it is a hard habit to break, replace picking with, a mental picture of what you will look like if you don't pick and form scars. The scars and the dark spots will mostly go away if you stop, but it may take a year for the bad ones to go away. Stop it!

Hi :)

I don't know anything specific to black complexions but I highly recommend sea buckthorne oil. It's not particularly well known in the Western world just yet but it has incredible healing properties for the skin on a lot of levels.
I buy mine from here... http://www.rosacea-remedy.com that website is selling it for rosacea which causes a lot of skin damage but their intensive intensive treatment oil is an almost pure version of sea buckthorn oil, which is quite hard to find undiluted! They also offer a personalised service for problem skin so it's worth getting in contact with them to see what they suggest.

I do suffer from rosacea but also have hypothyroidism which leaves dark blemishes behind any skin injuries I get, ie spots, scratches etc.

That sea buckthorn oil has really cleared my skin up so I can visibly see and feel how different my skin is now, it seemed to work really quickly.

I'd recommend it for all problem skin after seeing it actually work. Everyone should have a bottle in their first aid kits as it's so good at healing radiation burns, scars, ulcers, spots etc etc... just read the medical research on how it works.

Also rosehip oil is very good for healing skin but it hasn't got a very long shelf life, and Emu oil is supposed to be good for scarring too, but I've never tried that because I'm not sure if it's actually from Emu's or not.

I used bio-oil for quite a few months and didn't notice any improvement in my particular skin but we're all different and what works for one, may not work for another!

Good luck :)

Some thyroid disorders can be cured, but many require lifetime treatment. Learn here https://tr.im/iKiVT
For example, sometimes early stage thyroid cancer can be cured by surgery to remove the thyroid gland, but you will need to take thyroid hormone medication afterwards for the rest of your life. Goiters can also be surgically removed and do not always recur after surgery. In most cases, thyroid disorders need treatment over a lifetime. However, with treatment most people with thyroid disorders can live normal, healthy lives.
