It goes the other way. Being rational and intelligent makes you more likely to be Atheist.

--What made the Emperor & his staff, in the story "The Emperors New Cloths" so "intelligent" , that they were the only ones in the entire kingdom that could see the wonderful invisible cloths that the Emperor wore---- to his embarassment?

--Is it not the evolutionists, along with the atheists--that say that THEIR scientists, and the evolution worshippers, are the most intelligent so they see evolution, where as logic and reason fly away at their convienence?

--HOW INTELLIGENT DOES ONE HAVE TO BE TO SEE THE ODDS AGAINST THE TRAVESTY OF EVOLUTION, IS BEYOND ANY SCIENCE FICTION RATIONALITY:

*** sh chap. 14 p. 335 par. 14 Modern Disbelief—Should the Search Continue? ***

Evolutionists admit that the probability of the right atoms and molecules falling into place to form just one simple protein molecule is 1 in 10113, or 1 followed by 113 zeros. That number is larger than the estimated total number of atoms in the universe! Mathematicians dismiss as never taking place anything that has a probability of occurring of less than 1 in 1050. But far more than one simple protein molecule is needed for life. Some 2,000 different proteins are needed just for a cell to maintain its activity, and the chance that all of them will occur at random is 1 in 1040,000! “If one is not prejudiced either by social beliefs or by a scientific training into the conviction that life originated [spontaneously] on the Earth, this simple calculation wipes the idea entirely out of court,” says astronomer Fred Hoyle.

Ummm... We have functioning brains. That is more than I can say for all the sheep following blindly behind some unproven story designed to make you feel guilty about enjoying your life and being who you are. We think for ourselves, and don't believe in the stupidity that has been plaguing the Earth for thousands of years. That is what makes us rational and intelligent.

You have it backwards.

Being an atheist doesn't make you rational and intelligent. Being rational and intelligent makes you an atheist.

well from there point of view they embrace science which is meant to question everything even what you know is fact that way you know for sure it is fact. but they are ignorant to spiritual side of things because they dont believe in things of that nature, so I guess that are not as smart as they think.
