I say why not?? If you all get married, how cool would that be? She wouldn't even have to change her name!! I would encourage you to trace your genealogy on both sides. It would probably give you peace of mind and if you didn't stay together you would have a precious piece of your family's past that you can share with Mrs. Right and all the little Changs of your future! Blessings and don't worry about the name thing.

oh course you should keep dating her!!! Both of you having the same last name is a pretty stupid reason to break up with her. If friends are making fun of you for it, then forget them. If you really like this girl then dont blow her off just because some people are immature.

I wouldn't worry to much about it. I work with a girl who has the same last name as her boyfriend. (they are not related either) They have adjusted to it over time. Look on the bright side, she won't have to change her name if you get married. :)

Why are you even questioning this? That is a common last name among asians so I see no problem with it. And she wont have to worry about how your last name sounds with her first name if you ever got married :)

If you like her, the last name thing shouldn't be an issue. Just thing if you get married she won't have to change her Drivers license ID or Social Security card.

She could be a cousin so many times removed, after you get that many removed it's like you aren't kin. My parents are cousins, and they are fairly close, but they didn't know that till I traced my family tree. Now I have something to blame all my problems in my life (INBREEDING)

If you have the same surname then somewhere down the line you were from the same family. It will always be in your DNA- even if it was 1,000 years ago.
Plus, it's time we start mixing races- no more "pure breds". Find a nice blonde and you'll be amazed at how beautiful your baby will be!

I don't see a problem. Chang's not an uncommon name. Go ahead. If you end up married, it'll be really easy for her!
