When I try to install the newest version of internet explorer, it says that it is installing required updates, and then freezes. Is there any way to fix this?

Internet Explorer version 7 distribute only in the clients that has an genuine windows is your computer os is licensed? if not then it would hang and not work but you can also try another browser like Mozilla Firefox - good open source internet browser which is good or better than IE. but you can also download an cracked version of IE 7 which work just file in all computer...

Go to http://updates.microsoft.com and run a Custom install.
Install all the high-priority updates.
