Where did God and the Angels live before he created the the heavens?

I have read in Genesis:
"1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

In the above verse, is this stating heavens as the actual Heaven where it is believed many will go after they die? If so where did God and the Angels dwell before the creation of Heaven? If not has Heaven existed Eternally?

Thanks :)

Ralphagini,
While that is true, the sky was not created until later.
Genesis 1:8
“ God called the expanse "sky."

Heaven did not always exist. the observation you've made from reading is that God created the heavens and the earth, so that is good. Now, we aren't sure when the Angels were created, but it is obviously not before Heaven was. Now, Before it was always God, and He created. Now, if by Heavens in that verse refers to the actual Heaven that we will be going to when we die, its hard to say really. But can definitely be certain that Heaven did not always exist, or the Angels, they are both like us, created by God.

The Verse means that God created the earth and all the universe - Heaven is being built now - in John 14:1-4 Jesus said He is GOING to prepare a place for us - So Heaven is currently being built.

The answer to your question - we will only know after we die.

Gosh I wish I could help but I think thats one of the questions you'd have to ask God yourself.

I guess some things are beyond our comprehension right now

In the beginning means before time, in absolute reality we are still before time. The Bible is just words used to point to reality. But most are told it's history.

"Heavens" refers to the sky. Have you ever heard of the sky being referred to as the "heavens"?
But why is it called "heavens" and not heaven?
