Use a tiki torch cause flares don't last that long

I don't know about the legality of it, but why use flares when they will burn out after a short time. Instead use balloons to mark your driveway...that way they will stay out and when you're finished they can be thrown away. Plus you won't cause any potential problems with the local law enforcement.

Garage sale folks have been using them for years and it works for them!

Flares are an open flame waiting for a fuel to ignite. As the others said, find a light or reflectors.

Just use reflectors or those cheapo flashing LED lights. Those are visible for at least a mile.

As far as I know it is not illegal to use flares for what you described.

For safety's sake PLEASE do not put flares out. Think of the possible consequences. You could put out balloons, bright colored signs, etc.
