no, visa and visa electron are different products by the same company.
There are lots of sites you will not be able to use an electron card, get a visa one or preferably get a credit card as then you have legal protectsion.

Visa is the most widely recognized logo next to Mastercard. If your debit card has the logo, try it. Some companies online won't accept debit cards, so if it doesn't work, go with the Amex next.
