I used to have a 'green cheeked conure'.... and he was the best little bird that i could've ever asked for ! He loved, played, gave me 'kisses', went right to bed when it was 'lights out' time (by himself) ..... just my opinion, but to me, the conures are the sweetest.

None of those breeds are traditionally cuddly. If you want a true velcro bird, look at a cockatoo.

Please, for the sake of the bird, do lots of research first. They can have issues if you don't give them enough attention, care, toys, food, and housing.

Please, think about this. I have 10 birds and did LOTS of research before purchasing each one.

Subscribe to Companion Parrot Quarterly, and Bird Talk Magazines. Not just the websites.

Go to your local book store and purchase several books on cockatoos.

Visit breeders and learn from them.

Look closely at your finances. Bird vet visits are VERY expensive, but necessary. Cockatoos also destroy toys quickly, but these are necessary for their health and your sanity.

Look at how much time you have to spend with it. Birds do not do well when left alone. In fact, they can start having problems if bored, this is why toys are so necessary.

After all of this, if you still feel that you want a 'too, you will be well educated and know what to do for them.

If you want a cuddly bird, you definitely need to get one that was raised as a hand fed baby- just go to a reputable pet store and ask which ones were hand fed babies. Ask if you can handle some of them. When you put your hand on front of a bird, and it leaps right onto your hand, that will probably be a very cuddly bird.

sun conure's are little comedians and they do best in pairs as far as I've heard. I have a Cockatoo and she is sweet and loves to cuddel and play. She will actually get under the blanket when I'm under it laying on the couch. she is too sweet.

I would have to say an african grey. they are the smartest, most complex parrots out there. they also are the best talkers. i got mine 1 month ago and he has his own personality and hes already a part of my family. but ultimately its up to you.

parakeets (budgies) or cockatiels are very cuddly. make sure you get a handfed or handtamed bird.
