Try seeing an interventional pain management specialist. He can do epidural steroid injections to help ease the pain. I don't know how much you weigh but some tables can hold up to 450 lbs. for these procedures. Plus you already know that it is your weight that is causing the problem and you need to do what you have to to loose the weight.

Good luck

Some CHIROPRACTORs have tables that will lay you down on them from a standing position, they may be able to get rid the problem with help of a massage therapist without surgery

Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago.

Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.

The cure - start with a professional massage, you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).

For more information read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches what to do and where the pain comes from.

Hang in there. Life is really not bad. I am also obese. Talk to your docter. Also start eating healthy and less. Just gradually start eating less and more healthy. This will drop a lot of weight. Then start walking. Be paitent and persistent. It is best to drop only around 4 pounds a mounth. However after a short period of time you will feel much better. Another great idea is to visit a psychologist. I did. She prescribed prozac for depression and ativan for anxiety. I have made a complete turn around. There is no shame in getting help.
Best of luck to you.

There is help for you. First of all see a chiropractor, he or she can do wonders. Ask your Doctor for a referral to see a specialist. If the specialist thinks you need an operation you'll get an operation. I have had two just like you a pinched nerve and the other one for a cist growing inbetween my ribcage.
How do I feel. GREAT. Good luck to you, but DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

I'm no expert but if you lose weight and you swim it should help alot. You're probably thinking that doesn't help me right now but that's all I know. Part of my hand and my leg were numb and the neurologist said to swim and it's worked. The only way to make your life better is to do it, you have the power to. It may feel hopeless right now because the amount you need to lose may seem overwhelming, but just do it little by little, 1lb at a time. You're headed for more problems if you don't correct this. You know you're killing yourself. You know, I feel sorry for myself alot and I just have to snap out of it because noone is going to do it for me. You can do it.

naturally. medicine fails so frequently to help people's health problems that when they begin to lose hope they take the opportunity to tell them it's the patient's fault by diagnosing them with a mental disorder, clinical depression.
