I've been emailing and talking on the phone with this guy I met online who is overseas in the military and we flirt back & forth & he asked me if I would go out with him when he returns to the states and is looking forward to meeting me in person. We've only been talking for almost 2months. We both don't really like to talk about ourselves on the phone and sometimes we don't say much we kinda just make jokes. Even though we don't say much 2 eachother on the phone, he still continues to call we've spoken several times on the phone and I want 2 know if he's just lonely or if he's into me because he said that before talking to me he has chatted with other girls online but they scared him off because they were being to clingy. I'm not that way because when a guy is clingy with me it scares me too. What is it that makes him keep calling me if we don't have much to say on the phone? I really want us to open up 2 eachother and we have had meaningful conversations online but not on the phone.

Over the internet we have had real meaningful conversations about what we value in a partner and both agreed that it is important to be good friends with the person you're dating and I believe that what were doing right now is building a friendship and seeing where it goes from there. I hope this does turn into something because I'm starting to have feelings for him but have not told because I don't want 2 scare him off and I don't plan on telling him becuz I know that it will complicate things.
He's also 7 years older than me (I'm 20 and he's 27) he's at that age where he should be looking to settle down and probably wants 2 because alot of his friends have already. Another thing is he's white and I'm black do u think he's only into me becuz of that? And what is it that makes him keep calling me if we don't say much 2 each other on the phone?

He's really into Afros and braids and asked me to send him a picture of me with an afro and I did and he told me that he loved the picture of me and wrote it in those exact words. What do you think?

Then wat u should do iz just kinda don't e-mail him all like dat, but save sum of the things dat u 2 talk about over the internet and talk about it over da fone. 2 me he just wants to be friends, and he iz afrid of being n a real relationship. U say u both don't like people being 2 clingy, well dats one thing u n him got n common. Dis iz wat u should do instead of wastin your time if he likes u or he just lonely, ASK HIM DO HE LIKE U. say it like u mean it, but don't say it in a way dat might make u seem desprite for a man. Cause i can bet u not. Another thing if u don't know wat 2 say over da fone, before u call him/ or he call u, think of sum things dat u think dat u n him can relate to. but write it down. Think of alot of topics, and great conversation starters, that would let u know more about him.

i would go meet him. it sounds like he really likes you, maybe just as a friend, but a good friend. bring someone with you when you go, and a cell phone
