I know I made mistakes raising my children, but enough is enough. I put my son in a business venture that he thought was pretty stupid, most months, it's true, it just breaks even. This month it was doubled. I assumed he would just give it to me as usual but instead of depositing it I tried to cash it. The bank wouldn't let me do anything. When I called my son to let him know, he said he was glad the bank protected him...I took this as - protected him from even me. He wouldn't have the check if not for me in the first place! Children forget or don't realize what their parent has done for them. Sometimes I would like to flush them down the toilet.

I do the same thing, friends have told me to quit doing things for my kids and let them do it for themselves. I do no that when they move out they look at things a little different and begin to understand parents a little better. Good Luck

Well I dont understand the question here or maybe all the info is not here. Say's he the son was glad the bank protected him..FROM WHAT??? Do you get a this type of check every month?.. I just dont understand what exactly took place here. Also how old is your son?.

I do understand about disrespectful kids though. I have 2.. I dont understand them either. I give them things I dreamed about as a kid and never got because we were poor. And my kids treat me like I am nothing.. if I would have done that to my mom or dad I would have gotten a good whippen and I would have deserved it but my kids dont get whippens. I dont get it I understood that I was to respect my parents why dont todays kids? because we dont whip them?????? Good luck,.

I'm sorry your son was so disrespectful to you; I am sure that is very painful. But the solution is easy: don't put him into any more ventures or help him in any way. You can continue to be very civil and polite to him, but if he asks why the gravy train is over suddenly, you can calmly say, "I require more respect than you show me."

Best wishes.

that's the problem when we do to much for our children then they learn to expect it with out having to give anything i have a feeling this is not the first time he was given something and then was disrespectful to you maybe its time for him to grow up and realize that not everything is handed to you and once he starts getting a real taste of this he may realize how hard you have had to work to give him everything! but we must remember from one mom to another i know how you feel and i also know that some of my children's monster like quality's are of my own creation!

Children don't forget what you do, but become accustomed to it. They become spoiled rotten and rely on you to always be there to pick up the pieces. Be careful on what you do for them...it can bite you in the ***.
