We're deep frying chicken wings in my fiance's new "toy", a turkey fryer....is it possible to save the oil from it? It used like $10 in oil and I'd hate to throw it away! Help!

You'll need to drain the cooled oil away from the burnt crumbly stuff in the bottom, then refrigerate it.
Just make sure to allow enough time next time for it to warmup since it will be cold.
Also, you can only save it a few times, as it will turn dark and make your food both taste and look horrible otherwise.

When I was little my mother used to store the cooking oil in her fryer between uses by just putting a lid on it and leaving it in a cabinet. Once I was rummaging around in the cabinet and spilled all that oil. I'm probably lucky she didn't kill me. Other than the hazards of brat kids spilling the oil you can reuse it until it starts to taste funny from everything that has been fried in there.

Oil can be used more than once. If you refrigerate it, it is going to basically become a solid block of fat. Do not be alarmed. When you heat it back up again, it'll go back to liquid.

yes, you most certainly can. let it cool enough to be able to pour it either back in the original container or a couple of plastic milk jugs or something similar. you can use it over and over as long as you don't burn it or use it for fish. once you cook fish in it everything else will have a fishy taste to it. good luck

You can reuse it up to 6 times but it should be filtered once in a while

reuse it and put the lid on when ur finished with it but dont empty it out unless u dont want your deep fried onion rings to taste like deep fried calamari squid.
