Hi all I was hoping you could give me some advice.

I made the brave choice back in September to go very dark brown for the winter as opposed to the full set of light brown highlights i had during the summer months. However now i feel is the right time to go back to my errr "roots" (excuse the pun) by having light brown hair again. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to acheive such a harsh contrast with the possibility of blonde highlights to complement the look? At the moment my hair is quite dark brown despite trying the shampoo trick whereby you apply shampoo to dry hair for 30mins which has been successful to a point of stripping some of the colour.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!* Thanks

It's best to let your hair change back naturally over time rather than shocking it back into it's previous colour suddenly with bleach. I suggest getting a few streaks done, as well as using an all over colour-lightening shampoo such as the sunsilk highlights shampoo that was out a few years back.

I usually have light brown/auburn hair, but I'd been coloring it dark brown. The last time I colored it was about 2 months ago, and it still hasn't faded (I'm waiting for it to, but I haven't done anything extra to make it fade). You might need to lighten it down to your natural shade if it's not fading on its own. I'd have a professional do it for you, though, to make sure you don't end up with a weird shade or damaged hair.

Good luck!

go to your hair stylist and tell her the situation...or get advice from several hairstylists...heres my story:

i am a natural red head, well strawberry blonde...ive been dying my hair since 10th grade, which was about 5 or 6 years ago. ive been auburn, blonde, bleach blonde, brown, brown/blonde streak, black on the bottom/bleach on top with red streaks, and even hot pink streaks. needless to say, my hair is pretty damaged. this summer i dyed it dark brown, almost black, and about a couple of months ago i decided i wanted to be blonde again. i went to the hair stylist and got some ashy blonde streaks and my hair a little lighter. about 3 weeks later i went back and said i wanted to be blonde...she said she couldnt do it because i was still very dark, so i apoligized for taking her time and went downstairs (in the mall) to a different salon and asked to be blonde. they took a look at my hair and made me sign a consent because my hair was already somewhat damaged and dark and they had to bleach it. overall, they made me blonde and i absolutely love it! sometimes it takes more than one hairstylist to agree to do it. and it doesnt even look damaged, plus hair treatments work too...i mean, my change was much more drastic than what you want, so its possible. even to go in and gradually lighten it...its best to also go in a day before and get a hair treatment to strenghten your hair before you go in the next day to dye it
if you are doing it yourself, sallys has a large selection of supplies, i used to do it myself but it took a lot of work to foil and everything, however it was a lot cheaper!

i wish you luck and hope this helps!

Dramatic replaced may well be offered on the sweetness grant shops, and you will clip them in. i would not fool around with hues, till the hair is in incredible undertaking or it may harm.

Go to a salon and have them match a color to your roots and color the rest of your hair with it. Just for future reference, any color that makes your hair lighter cannot be removed, only made darker with more color.
