"Apparently God knows your thoughts, yet he wont tell you his identity so its best to worship no gods than worship the wrong one."

It doesn't take much to refute Pascal's wager. It's one of the flimsiest arguments ever constructed. The whole lots-of-gods thing does pretty much negate it though.

For the second flimsiest, look at Descartes' proof of God. It starts: "I have an idea of a perfect being." No he doesn't, it's impossible to imagine perfection.

I'd be interested if people brought this one out for a bit. Pascal's Wager is getting boring.

Incorrect. Pascal's wager was the simplest of logic. If you're wrong, you lose nothing. If you're right you gain everything. The same logic can be used in your scenario. Christ professed (correctly) that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but by Him. No other religion or belief system teaches an exclusive way to God, only that you are sincere in your pursuit. So, in this case, you accept Christianity, as this will still lead you to Heaven according to the other religions.

Just to let you know, the "all roads lead to Heaven" philosophy was engineered by satan himself. He knew that billions would fall for it. It's no accident that it is only Christianity that does not endorse this view.

The answer you quoted from Serpent reminds me of another quote
"What if we chose the wrong religion? Each week we just make God madder and madder."
That one came from Homer Simpson
I think I'll pass on taking religious advice from either source

THE ATHESIT'S WAGER:

its better to not believe in God and do good regardless, because if there is not god, you will be remembered for the good you did, and if there is a benevolent god, he will reward you for the good you've done.

imo, its not much better than pascal's wager.

There is no such thing as a false god or a false religion unless you would call a child a false man.
