Hello, After you condition r hair, brush parts u can, then take an
amount the size of r thumb nail of conditioner & apply it all over the knot spot & leave in for 5 min. Then gentley with a wide tooth
comb start at the very bottom taking layers & layers of hair there
combing down, & if u feel this working add more conitioner as much as needed, hopefully it'll all comb down straight. At night
wear either a 1 huge barette, lots of small ones, even bobby pins
if you have to in order to keep it straight. Maybe u should get r
hair cut?
Take Care,
Summer

First, get a new hairdresser - a good one! - and ask him/her for advice. Tried putting conditioner in your hair after you've shampooed and leaving it there are a while (a half hour maybe). Get a wide tooth comb (this will help prevent you getting as many split ends, normal hair brushes are very bad for your hair) and GENITALLY comb out the knot/s. Then rinse out the conditioner. For everyday, try using a leave in conditioner at the base of your neck and carry a wide tooth comb with you to brush out your hair. Avoid wearing scarfs! Or you could get your hair cut very short.

Use the baby shampoo no more tangles. Also keep a spray bottle with water and a teaspoon of conditioner in it. Spray your hair after you shampoo and comb it thru. lean your head forward at night and brush your hair from underneathe forward. Most people never brush the underneathe of their hair. This is what creates tangles.

The best idea is to try to untangle it with your fingers, and then comb it out with a wide toothed brushed. If you find the knot has become frizzy and dry, spritz it with a leave in conditioner, then trya dn untrangle it again.

i have the same problem my good friend. i tried everything. then a kind old man approached me in the men's room at the greyhound station and helped me. we talked about many things and he listened patiently about all my problems. when the knotted hair problem came up, he laughed. then he said. "you just need a little of this." he handed me a little tube of a clear thick substance and told me to rub it in. it smelled funny but i did what he said. it did it and it worked! never had that problem again. oh, you can get it at cvs. they call it mustache wax. there are angels amongst us, eh?

you may need to get the underneath of your hair a shorter layer than the top...it may be too heavy/thick causing it to knot up. Talk with your hair dresser and see what he/she suggests for your hair type.

in the meantime you may want to use a detangler spray (even if you have to get some they make for kids until then)

Sounds like you create it while sleeping
Is your hair long enough to braid before you sleep?
What type of hair do you have?
Perhaps you need a protien treatment...redkien makes a great one.

This may be caused by split ends or even breakage.

You may need to have your hair trimmed.
