I greatly appreciate any advice "From anyone who is a practicing Tibetan Buddhist." Thanks.

Tibetan here... Gelug lineage, but check out Buddhanet.net they have a worldwide directory that I refer to frequently in my travels.

My advice is to be cautious and follow the teachings about how to choose an ethical Buddhist teacher... i.e. take your time. Don't just pick someone out of thin air, like a few people I know have done and regret it terribly. The book (if you haven't already read it) that is of GREAT help is "Relating to a Spiritual Teacher" by Alexander Berzin... there's an online copy for free somewhere too if you run a search on it. I bought my copy from SnowLionpub.com but it can be found online for free and if you want to pay and don't want to hit Snow Lion or WisdomPubs.org you might find it in one of the major bookstores like Borders or Barnes and Noble.

Hope this is of some benefit. May you find happiness and the cause of happiness and an end to suffering and the causes of suffering.
