Their are dry shampoos for shut ins that you can use > I used to use a little baby powder but it leaves a film on the hair and promotes static for some reason. You are not using the right shampoo. Read the labels. Or you are using too much conditioner when you dont need it. The hair has natural oils in it. Try this. Take a bottle of selzer water and put a cap of shampoo in it. Wash your hair with it . It is so refreshing and it will remove the oils more effectively.

Babypowder, Put it in your hair as you style, and rub/brush it in, blow dry the extra away if needed...It works all the time!

Baby powder does indeed work. Just don't over do it and make sure to either brush it through or pat it out so no white residue is visible.

There is a product I used to use in the 1970's, called PSSSSSST. I checked a couple of years ago, and a spray can cost $7.00. It is basically corn starch and a propellant.

Yes--I've tried the baby powder thing (I used body powder, actually), and that's a good quick fix. Just be sure you rub it in really well.
