The 'niece' is a good idea.. unless you really really like Girl Scout cookies! In which case you could figure out how many boxes you want to buy and then buy one box from each little girl until you've got all you intended to buy, and then just say Sorry I have enough cookies already. I know they are very cute but you'll go broke.. and get fat too.. if you buy cookies from every kid who tries to sell them to you!

Just say, "No, thank you. But good luck!" They are instructed not to be too pushy. If they press you, just say you don't want any cookies.

Just a thought: the cookies freeze very well, and with some cheerful wrapping you could give them as gifts at Christmas, Valentines, birthdays, thank yous... then you don't have to eat them, but you've still helped a good cause and taken care of your shopping!

Buy some from the first girl scout who comes to your door, then tell the rest, "Sorry, I've already bought mine". If you want to be really nice, you can add, "and they were yummy"
This should not be happening, by the way, because each of the girl scouts has a particular area for sales, simply to prevent overlapping. The adults who are with the girls should be aware of this!

I can't believe you don't like Girlscout cookies. Tell them the truth, whatever you say.

I totally understand the annoyance. I have that and their parents hitting me up at work. I make a practice of not buying the cookies and just letting them know that I honestly do not eat such sweets but I donate a couple of dollars to them for their cause. It is always appreciated and frankly each time it seems I have less to approach me.

My friend is a girl scout leader and I had to buy a bunch of cookies (that I didn't want) from her. She said that you can buy cookies and the girl scouts will send them to the troops in Iraq...that's what I did! Buy from one girl and them you can tell all the other girls that you bought a bunch of boxes from so and so.

I'd love to girls but I've already purchased my quota of girlscout cookies this year. (close door)

If it would not present an economic hardship then buy one from each person who comes to the door (give them away to friends, take them to the office, etc.). If you can't afford to do that then tell the person, "Sorry, I already bought some and cannot afford to buy any more. If you leave me your name I'll buy from you next year."

Just tell them nicely that you bought some cookies already, but thank them for stopping by.
