The possibilities abound...

Childish amusement.

Likes inflicting pain randomly.

A sneaky way of thinning out lesser developed cultures.

A sinister plan as yet unknown.

A sad attempt at keeping areas unpopulated.

Plague propogation.

Remember this is the wise entity that flooded the world killing thousands because they didn't play with his rules. Knowing the future, put the apple tree in Eden knowing it would be harvested, but did it anyway. Sounds like a mad alien with a planetary ant farm.

I am 66YO and have struggled with this question most of my life.

Forget the flies and fleas and HIV virus, just LOOK at perfection in a mountain lion, tiger or wolf. Perfectly honed killers! They will NEVER sit down with the deer or elk. It is not in their nature.

This world is a world of duality Love and Hate. Good and Evil. The above examples are examples of one extreme..the extreme of selfishness.

God however is One ( not dual ) and that One is Love.

Ipso facto God could not and did not create the world. WE did.The Mindset of all of us who wished to experience separation from God created..and create every second..this vast juggling act. Note that EVERYTHING in our universe is subject to change. Unlike the unchangeablity of God.

When we become tired of separation and seek atonement ( At Onement) this universe will collapse back into nothingness..its function will be over.

If you find this answer accepatble, as I do, then go and study :

Each species apparently plays a role in natures complex mechanisms. Sometimes the creation of species is relevant at the time and when the purpose the were designed for has been acheived or moved on they are left to evolve and survive.

So its likely they think the same about us lol

While incarcerated in a death camp, Corrie Ten Bloom read in her contraband Bible to thank God for everything. "Thank God for the fleas?" asked her prison mates. Guess what...the fleas were so bad that Corrie and the other women could freely read their Bible; the Nazi guards avoided their hut.

Now onto your question....God made mosquitos. Why?? Because they carry diseases and people can die from those diseases. It is called population control. As difficult as it is for us to believe or understand that God would "approve" such a tactic, we only have to look to the other methods of controlling the ever-growing population: war, famine, pestilence, disease, and natural causes (miscarriages for example).

It's not our place to question. It is our place to accept that God has a plan and that life is fulfilled according to that plan.

MY mother tell me that God creates mosquitoes and flies to show our weakness.
Shakir 2:26] Surely Allah is not ashamed to set forth any parable-- (that of) a gnat or any thing above that; then as for those who believe, they know that it is the truth from their Lord, and as for those who disbelieve, they say: What is it that Allah means by this parable: He causes many to err by it and many He leads aright by it! but He does not cause to err by it (any) except the transgressors,
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 2:26]
Dall means to lead astray or cause to err. When it is used with reference to divine action it means withdrawal of grace, as a punishment, for rejecting the guidance offered without ulterior motives.

Aqa Mahdi Puya says:

Through metaphorical expressions, in the form of parables, the Quran stimulates the human mind and heart. A healthy mind grasps the truth, whereas a perverted mind adds more threads to its web of doubts. The one and same expression produces two opposite effects. The right response is the acceptance of the guidance, the reaction of the muttaqin, and the wrong response is the "going astray", the reaction of the fasiqin.

That's actually Mother Nature's department, and the reason mosquitos exist is to spread disease and keep the earth from being overpopulated.

God made mosquitoes, too. Satan would be the one trying to get you to abuse the people around you and get really angry because you are itchy from mosquito bites.
