Green tea speeds up your metabolism, but according to what I've read it only burns about an extra 80 calories a day. If you add sugar to the tea (green tea is slightly bitter) there goes your 80 calories.

Green tea, however is an antioxidant and therefore good for your heart, arteries, etc.

NO

There was a study using only 20 people and has never been replicated.

The fact that oneaday vitamins still sells this weight loss multivitamin with green tea extract claiming it helps lose weight is just ridiculous.

The only sure way to lose weight is to decrease your intake of calories. Keeping that in mind, if you substitute green tea for soda, then your calorie intake would be less. In and of itself, green tea will not make you lose weight.

I guess if I drank it every day it would because green tea disagrees with my system and makes me kneel at the foot of the stone throne.

I've heard it speeds your metabolism - I'm pretty sure that's not the tea-bag version, though?
