Just wondering what you think... I haven't seen this discussed much.

I am glad to see that the response is overwhelmingly positive. Somehow I expected to see hordes of answers screaming about hell. It is nice to know that Yahoo answers is such a tolerant place.

Personally, I have no opinion of homosexuality. I have several friends who are gay.

However, take religion out of the equation, becuase there are too many people in here who think that all gay people are doomed to Hell. I don't believe that.

From a scientific standpoint, ask logically if homosexuality is normal. I would argue that it is not, for if we were all homosexual, the human race would extinguish itself within a few decades. I believe that people who are gay have a defective (for lack of a better word) gene that causes them to be gay. I've never thought that people make an active choice to be gay ... why would they and face being ostracized by their family?

From a spiritual standpoint, or at least a Christian one, I think Jesus loves all of us and we're all sinners. And I think there are a lot worse sins than practicing homosexuality.

Jesus Christ has paid for all the sins of mankind. Every sin that
was and will be committed. If you saw " The Passion" the last
words the Lord screamed out to His Father was "Tetelestai" in
Greek, It is Finished, or It is complete. John 19:30. That means that all sin is paid for by the Son of God, who is God. So, the only sin that puts a person in hell is rejecting Christ. John 3:16-18. The BIG ? is Who is HE? HE is God, that gets any person into heaven. That is HIS Grace,so anyone can be saved. Now, sin, what does that do to us now?
Simple, it breaks fellowship with God and we are carnal Christians, we look and act just like people who don't believe.
Can people who are homosexual be saved? Of course, if they
stay in that lifestyle will they still go to heaven? YES, why?
Their sin is no different than, GOSSIP, FORNICATION, EVIL
DESIRE, ANGER, COVETOUSNESS, IDOLATRY, ADULTERY to name just a few, Col. 3:5-6.
What sin does after a person believes is break fellowship
with God and the Christian Spiritual Life. It also causes a person
to lose rewards in heaven. Heaven is not equal, there will be
degree's of happiness in heaven. Rev.2:7, 2:17, 2:26,3:5,3:21. So, let's love the homosexual not condemn him or her. We were all born in sin, and Christ is the only answer to ALL mankind. Please don't call this easy believism. That is an insult to God, HIS SON paid the price, whosoever will come. This is the GRACE OF GOD. None of
us deserve it, but HE so GRACIOUSLY gives it to us. This
is the true GRACE gospel, the " The Finished Work Gospel
of Jesus Christ". HE did it all, and we reap the benefits. Col.1:5,
Eph. 1:3

Since I'm a christian that has actually read the bible, I realize its a sin, but I also realize I'm not the judge. Its pretty clearly stated in the bible that Christ is the judge, since He knows our hearts. I think people who try to judge others are committing a sin by trying to take His job. Being a sinful human, I have my own sins to deal with, so am not qualified to judge anyone else, none of us are. Apparently, a lot of us seem to think we're sinless and that God gave us the job of judge, but its obvious to anyone with half a brain that it simply isn't true. When the new testament says to judge each other, its talking about others in our church, going to them and discussing it when they think something wrong is going on, its not talking about telling others they're going to hell, and all the other nonsense many of us seem to believe. The biggest problems with most christians is their reliance on other's interpretations of the bible, and considering how many whacko's are out there hatemongering, it just can't be a good thing. I think if more christians actually read the bible instead of listening to televangelists and hatemongers they'd actually understand a bit more.

I don't care. I did until i found out my sister was lesbian. She was plastered all over the papers. She made a huge mark on the military when she got kicked out of the Coast Guard for it. But now I find homosexuals are alot nicer than hederosexuals.

Who somebody loves and/or has sex with is up to them, as long as they're not causing harm in the process. As far as I'm concerned, all acts of love and pleasure are sacred acts.

Around this part of my home city, there are dozens of couples strolling up and down the "Little Italy" area in the summer, holding hands and sometimes kissing -- and this includes both heterosexual and homosexual couples. That's part of what I love about living here. The sight of people enjoying themselves with each other always makes me smile. :-)

I think it's great if you are a homosexual, heterosexuality is probably better for heterosexuals, it's not a moral issue just a matter of natural human variation like height or IQ.

I don't think about 'homosexuality' I think about people. Some people are heterosexual, some bisexual, some homosexual and other various areas sexuality and that is just a part of who they are. I look at the person for the person not the label.

You haven't seen it discussed much?! You'll have to visit this forum more often!

It is a touchy topic. People love to condemn gays, and using religion is a terrific way to justify their actions. "Live and let live" should be something that everybody practices -- the Golden Rule, that sort of thing.

Despite what some will say, there is nothing wrong with it -- no moreso than being tall or being left-handed.

How do you define homosexuality?

Generally, I have no problem with it at all so long as it doesnt become a movement to overthrow heterosexuality.

Islam for example is a cultural movement that entirely washes feminity out of the whole of society. Now I have a problem with homosexuality, when it seeks to impose its norms on me. Otherwise, no problem at all. None.
