i have brown hair. its a mixture of light and dark brown. i've always wanted to put highilights. but i'm afraid that my hair will start to grow and you will be able to see my real hair. i dont want to go to high school with an ugly hair. or instead should i just wait for highlights to start appearing (once in a while my hair makes its own higlights)

please help me if you think i should tell me which colors and how many should i put on.

thanks

If your hair already has natural highlights (which it sounds like it does if it's a mixture of light and dark brown) then you may not need highlights.

However, if you do opt for highlights, go for something that can naturally occur in brown hair... perhaps the color your hair turns when it creates your own highlights. I personally, have medium brown hair that I highlight with a soft reddish-brown. I have them done professionally, so that when the hair starts growing in, it looks natural and you can't really tell. I get it touched up every 3 months or so, but even just a haircut after 3 months makes the roots less noticeable and I can go 6 months before highlighting it again.

You can always try it, and if you hate it, dye your hair back to a solid color or have the highlights muted.

Go to a beauty salon and ask them about putting a few highlights in your hair. With brown hair, don't attempt to do it yourself. You may regret trying it on your own. Yeah, it's much more expensive at the salon, but you'll like the results a lot better.

a lighter brown (like honey) would look cute. My sister gets her hair-highlighted every once in a while, But it may damage your hair. If you like your hair the way it is, then don't get 'em. Just get your hair done in a cute style for people to notice it.

flow and discover some electric powered blue hair mascara and do it that way, that's much less damaging, and if this is in hassle-free terms a "fad section" you're dealing with it won't create any variety of everlasting harm on your hair by utilising bleeching it such as you will could desire to do to accomplish that completely, and as quickly as you do bleech it and positioned the blue by using it, you would be constantly topping it up besides by way of fact it is going to vanish out at as quickly as as your hair will substitute into very porus interior the direction of the bleeching technique. sturdy luck

I got highlights and I love them. I would never go back to the way my hair was before I got them.

It's your hair; if you want highlights, give them a try. If you hate them, you can always dye your hair back to its original color, and all will be well.

i say get the high lights. go with a shade that's 1 or 2 shades lighter then yours. if you get someone doing it that knows what they are doing they will be able to help you with the needs your looking for and the worries u may have. 2 shades lighter is what i think would work well for you!

do a subtle highlight so that when it starts to grow out it's not overly obvious. pick a color that is close to your color but will still show. chestnut?auburn? im not sure cuz i don't know your current color exactly. but go talk to a good stylist and ask her/his opinion. they usually can make good suggestions.

wait till your hair makes its own highlights. once you highlight your hair, its gonna be a never-ending cycle of re-highlighting, since it looks bad when you can see your real hair color in your roots.

You need to keep in mind that coloring your hair damages it. I don't advise it.
