There's this guy at school who I really like...the thing is I only met him breifly in detention and we're not friends..we've only smiled and said hi to each other a few times since then. I've tried to get his attention by smiling sweetly and it seemed to work a little, seeing as now he blushes when we pass in the hallways. He seems kind of like the shy/loner type so I doubt he would approach me. But I don't really know how to start talking to him either, just seeing him for such a short time each day..what should I do?

I use to be the shy type of guy so I can give you an honest accurate answer. Talking to him little by little helps, but don't do it in a very public place. If you can catch him in a corner that would be great, if he's shy he's not gonna want to talk in front of a lot of people. Your doing a good thing by smiling at him, he notices that very much and it will grab his attention. Just be very sweet to him and talking softly really gets a guy. After you've talked to him enough you can ask him if he wants to be your friend, then the rest I'm sure you can handle. Good luck girl!

Ask him for help in a class and if you can meet with him after school for some tutoring. That will give you some time with him and while you're with him try to be his friend because that is the only way you could be more than friends. I know this because I am shy too and that is how I plan to ask out the girl I like. However you may have to instigate the first date like the girl I like did. Just ask what he is doing about dinner time and if he says he is about to eat then ask if he will pick you up for dinner.

Walk over to him and ask him if he'd like to go to a movie and dinner. If he says no for whatever reason your never wonder what could of been. If he seems shy you cant wait on him to ask you. If you dont feel comforable doing that maybe walk over and say something funny or tell him you love his shirt, pants, haircut something. You could also give him a note saying do you like me check yes with a box or no with a box. If you checked yes please answer next question do you eat? yes or no and your phone number.

You could maybe write him a letter saying you think he's pretty cool and would like to get to know him better and leave your phone number on it? Or ask him to write you back and leave his number? Otherwise just go the straight forward way and go up and talk to him!! Cause if he is shy he probly won't have the nerve to come up to you first! Trust me i know!!

he is not shy i play the shy guy in school cause the girls say i look innocent and shy and it amkes me look very cute. i honestly have touched so many girls looking innocent it also gets me out of trouble but my frends know i am the rudest nastiest horniest little bugger in teh school so be careful cause he is not shy i tell u that from experience if he isint popular he is like me. i am frends wif all teh popular ppl in school but hand out with only 4 tregular ppl so i look like an innocent average sweet babyish cute looking guy. good luck ur being taken advantage of so yeah but if u must feel the need ask him whats wrong thats how tehy all start with me and when i say nothing they say well u look so sad and go from tehre about his physical appreance as a sad boy dont mention shyness it sparks hornyness cause he will know he got u but dont interact too much at once trust em go to him but paly hard to get i know cause well i juss explained above good luck... and in ur case ur a girl dont get laid by him becareful

Try and ask hi friends (if he has any or even one) what his interest are and what kind of things he is into. If not get one of your friends to find out something about him. Then when you know something about him you have something to break the ice.
