She pretty much just sleeps anywhere right now. How can I know birthing is imminent?

Find one a cozy place in the house, like a closet or a dark corner where there is little house activity. Find a cardboard box, big enough for mama cat to stretch out in, and cut a passageway for her in the side, but leave a couple of inches of box towards the bottom, so kittens won't tumble out.
Line the bottom of the box with old towels or blankets.
If the box came with a lid, put it on.
Show her the box a few times a day. She may or may not show any interest before she goes into labor, but she knows the box is there and she will know what it's for.
When she does go into labor, she will be restless. You know your cat better than anyone else. When she is behaving in a way that is not like herself, show her the box again and again until she takes the hint.
Keeps kids and other pets away from her. Many cats do not like an audience when delivering kittens and can get distressed. She may want to be alone or she may want you there. It differs from cat to cat.
Happy kittening!

Keep her inside if you don't want her to have her kitten outside. You'll know when she is ready because she will go to the same hiding spot over and over, it will be some place where you can't see her, like the back of a closet, or behind the sofa. When cats have kittens they become protective and don't want you to be around. Just watch her, notice where she is going and hiding, and one day when you don't see her around for a while, you'll know to look in her spot and their she'll be. Also be prepared for an emergency with her birthing like her having trouble pushing ect. And also, she will eat her placenta and possibly the dead or runt kittens.

she will want to nest for the birth, mine chose a pretty dress from my closet she pulled off hanger. give her a soft quiet area where she can have them. keep an eye when she starts, she should remove the sac but if she doesn't you will need to so they don't suffocate. some cats also will try to eat them , gross i know. she will want to clean them also this is instinct. a visit to the vet for her and the little ones should happen shortly after to be sure all is well.

Well u can keep her in a blocked off area(preferably the kitchen) where u can leave food & water for her with bvlankets(that u dont mind getting blood on)so she can give birth in that area & not in just any random area. Good luck.
