Set a deal with your mom - you will help until a certain time, then you will go to the party (say, one hour after the party starts, so you're a little late, but still have plenty of time to have fun). While you're helping, you have to actually work hard and do a good time, no slacking off. Then you can go to the party with a clear conscience.
