If I'm flying or driving to Mexico or any of the countries below? I'm Canadian. I already have a passport. Which I used to go to Mexico 2 years ago by plane. But I keep hearing this stuff about visas and its really annoying me and I don't understand it. So can someone just tell me I don't need it or explain why me or someone else would need it if they have a passport???

Flying into Mexico as a Canadian you will need a "Mexican Tourist Card" which is similar to a Visa. Don't worry, it is less paper work than returning home. Basically you fill it out on arrival and pay your fee, AND keep your copy safely with your passport as you need it when leaving the country. If not, you get a hassle and even more fees.

A quick lesson.

Passport - government issued identification proving your citizenship.

Visa - Various types of approval to enter a foreign country, (issued by a foreign country) usually specifying entry limits, time periods, and reasons. Visa vary from 1) not required between friendly nations, 2) a simple rubber stamp and collecting a fee, 3) a lengthy application and review process. Visa's can be tourist visas, work visas, student visas, etc. Many sun destinations that are poor but have an active Tourist Industry have a rubber stamp type system where they just like to collect a Tourist Tax.

You don't need a visa to to to Mexico, Central America, and most of South America. Check with embassies on the requirements of visiting their countries.
