What are the symtoms of IBS..??

I just really want to know what IBS feels like and if there are ne ways to treat it..?? i have no idea what this may be that i have...but IT REALLY BOTHERS ME TO READ THAT THE DOCTORS CANT FIND THE CAUSE..?? And do you think its normal when i go to my doctor..tell her about my problem which i have for 6 months already..which is bloating, disconfort..smtng horrable that i dont think will happen to a person or somene will understand..she tells me "I CANT SEND YOU TO ULTRASAUND CHECK-UP CUZ YOU HAVE NO PAIN" why cant she understand...why wont she help me..??ARE THERE DOCTORS LIKE THAT?? OH GOD..IT EFFECTS MY WHOLE LIFE..WOULD IMAGINE PAIN..BUT THIS..NO WAY TO DESCRIBE! cant go ne where anymore..I SWEAR! IS THIS HOW IT (ibs) FEELS..?? WHAT SHOULD I DO..??? Not even 20 yet..but havin this much disconfort in life..!!!! ILL APPRECIATE YOUR ANSWERS SO MUCH!!!!!

I feel so sorry for you. I have IBS. Mine is the diarrhea kind (sorry people). For a couple of months before my diagnosis I had horrible stomach cramps and diarrhea. My husband told me I was moaning in my sleep. I finally went to my doctor and told him that he had to do something. He sent me for a bunch of tests. They all were negative and that is normal for IBS. IBS is a functional disorder. They can find nothing wrong, but something definitely is.

This is what you should do. Make another appointment. Insist on an upper GI and a stool sample test (this is easy...they just give you little cards that you put a sample on with a popsicle stick).

If your doctor won't do anything or doesn't believe you. Change doctors. You might even tell her you are going to change doctors. That might make her take action.

If you have the constipation kind, buy fiber tablets. They really do help. A friend of mine takes them.

You have to take charge of your own health and treatment. Doctors are so overbooked and overworked anymore that they don't have time for you. Good luck!
