If I had waited until marriage....I'd still be waiting. What could possibly be worse than a 43 year old virgin?

I did not wait because I think that sex is an important part to a relationship. Everyone needs sex and I think that it is important to "test drive the merchandise" before you get married because that is the person that you are going to have sex with for the rest of your life.

I would say that in our current world. People should not get married until they have lived together and KNOW that they are truly compatible.

Wing-nuts may still believe that you should wait until you are married to live together or sleep together. I would say that sex is about half as important as true compatibility and that you never know if you are truly compatible until you move in together and go for it.

Marriages would last a lot longer and divorce numbers would drop if people would approach eternity together with a little bit of forethought and realize that if they can't stand living together, getting married should be the last thing on their mind.

I'm married now, but I did wait until after we were married. I think we had the shortest service and reception in the history of weddings LOL.
No regrets at all.

Waited until marriage to be intimate with my wife, and have remained faithful to her for over 30 years. Would not have wanted it any other way. She is, and will always be, the one and only in my heart, mind or bed.

I haven't gotten to that point yet. But i definitely plan on waiting. It's worth it. It's not just about getting pregnant or STDs/STIs...it's more rewarding if we do it with the one person we know we want to spend the rest of our lives with. Seems appropirate that the union of two souls in such an intimiate way as marriage, be signified by the union of two bodies at that point. Just my two cents. :)

I have never actually married my common-law husband. We've been together for 21 years and are (so far) successfully raising three great kids. We've never set foot into a church together, except for funerals.

"Test driving the merchandise" .....that puts a whole new spin on religion and spirituality. Interesting.
