Tonight I am going to a dance and my ex is gonna be there. I just broke up with him yesterday because I didn't like him anymore. We are still friends but he still likes me. alot. he was my first slow dance and the first person that I held hands with. same for him. I am kinda sad about breaking up with him but I think that it is meant to be that way. If he asks me to dance or go out with him again, what is the BEST way for him not to feel sad. Say "Listen (w/e his name is), thanks for a good relationship and a lot of good and fun times, but I just want to take a break and try being single for once. I still want to be your friend, but not your GIRLfriend. I'm really sorry but I can't control my heart. I wish I could because then I would but I can't. I'm really sorry." I would just dance with him. I would tell him that he was a really nice guy, but not for you. If that doesn't work tell him you know another girl who likes him anyway (even if you don't). He may be pestering you for the rest of the night, but at least he wont be sad.

i noe this sounds stupid, but stay a little farther away from ur ex at the dance. he wont hav 2 b around u and feel awful, so ur doing him a favor. no matter wut, u wont hav as much fun as u could hav had b/c u will feel bad about dumping him. it'll get better as soon as he moves on. dont worry, and hav a good time!

you probably won't run into him but if you do, and he asks you those questions just tell him that you need some space and that you hope to still be friends(if you want to)
