Mac Foster is amongst the best "unknown" fighters. I think if he had a real shot on an "on" night, he could have been champ... heck, these days with crap so weak, he could come back like Rocky, lol. OK, maybe not.

At one time he possibly could have as he had size, reach, and a powerful punch. When he fought Jerry Quarry he was the numver one ranked contender and had won all 24 of his fights by knockout and was a heavy favorite to beat Quarry. Foster had one weakness and that was he was just too mechanical and could be hit with body shots and that's how Quarry upset him by going to the body to set up his other punches. Frazier was a no nonsense straight ahead brawler with the massive left hook of course and was the first man to defeat Muhammad Ali. Foster was a good fighter but not as good a fighter as Smoking Joe Frazier. I believe that Joe would have been able to absorb some big shots from Foster early on but would have worn him down with body shots. I think that Foster makes a good fight out of it and goes the distance but Joe wins the unanimous decision. Good question.

Yes. Would have been a war but I think Frazier wins the decision. Foster couldn't take Quarry or Ali out so I don't see him taking Joe out either. Frazier by decision
