See the doc right away! This could be a lot of things, including shingles. Hope it is not that, but you need a doctor. There are prescription-only salves that will stop almost any localized itch, and pills to make generalized itches bearable. The itch may be just a symptom, though, so see a doc as soon as you can.
Soaking in warm, soapy water may stop you from going nuts meanwhile. Be sure to cover yourself with a moisturizing lotion immediately after getting out of the tub.

You may be suffering from allergy-related urticaria (also known as hives). When did you start to itch, and did it coincide with you using anything new, for example, did you change your washing powder brand, or eat some food varieties that you've never had before?
To check if it is really allergy-related, try to go back to the food, washing powder, fabrics, etc that you used before the itch started. Go get some off-the-shelf anti-histamine tables from the pharmacy, and take them regularly. If the rash calms down, it's almost certainly urticaria. Then go see your doctor, and ask to be referred to a specialist for allergy-testing. Good luck.

To me, and I'm no expert, this sounds like eczema... I have it and it keeps me awake and stops me doing many things but there are many ways to soothe it. I wont go into detail on creams etc to use because it may well not be this skin disorder, but it's worth checking it out (http://www.talkeczema.com) because everyone suffers in a different way with it. I find Elizabeth Arden eight hour cream helps a lot. Good luck with it x

Intense itching under the skin can have an internal cause. It could be the beginnings of jaundice, or some trouble with your gall bladder or bile duct. When your liver/gall bladder/bile duct malfunction, you get a build up of a toxin, bilirubin, under your skin which causes it to itch insanely. To find out, you need to have a blood test, and soon. In the meantime, try an antihistamine, like Zirtek, to relieve the itch. you can buy it over th counter at any pharmacy.

I sympathise enormously with u as I had this over the last couple of months!!! I even ended up havin a cool shower at 3a.m. and putting socks on my hands as some sort of scratch mits to try and stop the itching!!! LOL. Mine was due to an over-active thyroid so maybe u should go to the docotor to get to the bottom of it. I was given antihystamines to help with the itching.Good luck

i know exactly how you feel! I have the same thing and mine is a sympton of my liver trouble. Have you got any other symptoms? Do you feel generally well? are your toilet habits normal?
The only thing that relieves it for me is a very, very cold shower - so cold it takes my breath away, then I dry myself thoroughly, use talc in damp spots and wear loose cotton clothes or nothing at all.
Nighttime is the worse, so I take piriton and hope for the best!
Best of luck, you have my sympathy, its awful not being able to get rid of an itch!!!

This could be caused by any one of hundreds of things, some of which are mentioned above, to extreme nerves caused by problems in your life.
Antihistamine tablets will help, as will the bicarb bath, and cider vinegar, for the short term, but you really do have to see a doctor to determine the underlying problem as it could be serious or it could be nothing, but you won't know till he has checked you out.

Thyroid disease is one of the most common health problems we face today. From a practical standpoint, there are many ways to approach this issue. Learn here https://tr.im/A62xm
Hypothyroidism, or underactive thyroid, is a very common problem, and there are many reasons for this, including drinking chlorinated and fluoridated water, and eating brominated flour.
Chlorine, fluoride, and bromine are all in the same family as iodine, and can displace iodine in your thyroid gland.
Secondly, many people simply aren't getting enough iodine in their diet to begin with. The amount you get from iodized salt is just barely enough to prevent you from getting a goiter.
