I am 27 and cannot leave town without having a panic attack and backing out. I am afraid of going crazy in the car and this prevents me from living a life I want to live. My fiances family lives out of town so I have only been out there once. I am depressed sometimes about this and have lived like this for 3 years now. I cant afford therapy is there options out there for anything I can get free or cheap? My doc has me on paxil and gave me Klonopin but I am afraid to take the klonopin because I dont know what it will do? please give me advice?

Relax, read a couple of good adventure books, and build your self-confidence. Then treat it like some kind of your own personal adventure. I find things easier when I compare them to my favorite books and movies.

YOU NEED TO START BELIEVING IN YOUR SELF!!! what are you going to do when you need to go and see one of your family members, what if an emergyncy comes out and you HAVE to leave town? i know it is hard but you should try, for the firt time just go a little bit, second time go out of town a little more and so on untill you can leave without having a panic attack!! hope you get over it

try to get over your fear,or else have someone you know and trust drive you there. but even if you don't have a driver, like i said, try to get over your fear, and try to drive as safley as you can.
