I'm assuming that you mean the limit number of children kind of population control. I don't really like the idea, but people should be made aware that by having too many kids they could potentially be putting those same kids at risk in the future because of geological crowding, extinction due to human encroachment, and most of all; famine. The choice is entirely up to the family, but I would like it to be promoted that a maximum of two kids is ideal.

It depends on which country you're talking about. Here in the U.S. we could control population growth by a large margin, by doing more to control the illegal alien influx. Some other countries need major birth control education, and access to birth control. Yes, there are people who don't believe in birth control, but I think many more...(3rd world countries) aren't aware and have no access, and others (the 20 year olds with 5 kids) want to ignore the importance.

Based on some of the questions, assumptions, ignorance, racism, narrow-mindedness, answers and poor spelling that I have witnessed on this site, I would say population control is not being done with enough enthusiasm.

When I was in college in the early 70's at a large university, the thing going around was "zero population growth" and the professors begged us college students not to do it because I do believe statistically you could prove that often the less intelligent people reproduce more and then the smarter people would be gone and the world would be left to the uneducated. This is not to hurt anyone's feelings, one isn't necessarily smarter just because they went to college, but in worldly statistics, I think this would prove itself out.

Progressives of the last century pioneered eugenics, like margeret sanger the founder of planned parenthood. the first PP was in harlem, and staffed by black personnel so that the black people in harlem wouldnt think white people were trying to kill their babies when they actually were. sanger wrote a book called "breeding the thuroughbreed" in which she wanted blacks, jews, mental defectives and christians to be sterilized. they (the well meaning progressives) actually got the govt to sterilize whole wards of mental institutions, saying that if they didnt then the govt would have to take care of their children. sanger also traveled to germany in the 30's to help formulate the psuedo science behind the nazi racial superiority doctrine. never underestimate the destructive power of progressives in large groups.

If there was some way we could keep the underachieving, low intellect people from reproducing like rabbits you may convince me, but if you read the history of Eugenics that was referred to above you would understand my opposition to any form of control.

That it's another example of the government trying to take over every aspect of our lives and freedoms. If they wanted less people (say here, in the US) they shouldn't have allowed so many refugees in--but don't start telling citizens how many children they can have. Many people's religions are based on having large families.
