Psalms 14:1 says "the fool has said in his heart, there is no God". This is because the things that God created clearly attest to His existence (Romans 1:20-22). Human imperfection is another thing we are well aware of, and because God, of necessity must be perfect, it is obvious to any honest person that we don't quite measure up to His standards. That is why most of the ancient civilizations practiced some form of ritual sacrifice: to appease an angry god. The underlying concept was accurate, but the practice flawed because sinful men always want to distort and corrupt things.
There is such a thing as accountability. An individual is held accountable for what he does with the knowledge God has given him. This is why Abraham and other pre-Christian figures could go to heaven. A child doesn't go to hell because s/he has not reached that age of accountability and has no real awareness.
If, hypothetically speaking, a man never heard of Jesus, but he believed in God and understood that he was imperfect and in need of salvation, and he had faith that God would save him, he would not be condemned to hell because we are only held accountable for the amount of truth God has given us. But, on the other hand, if he does know of Jesus and rejects him, he will definately experience God's wrath.

The most argued question there is, probably. Some say no, that any person that seeks God will be shown Him, somehow...

Others say, no heaven, but will be allowed the chance to hear the gospel later and given the opportunity then to accept or reject it.

It goes on and on and on... I don't know about others, but I have been exposed to the Gospel, and so it is a moot question in my instance.

God told us to 'go into all the world and preach the gospel to all people' though that does not translate into an answer, it does put an urgency in the mix.

Everyone is given a chance for salvation. In this dispensation it is by being Born Again. St John 3:5. Acts 2:38 esxplains how to do it. And when you receive the Holy Ghost, you will experience it the same way they did in Acts 2:4, 10:45-56, 19:6. St. Mark 16:17 tells us some of the things that we will be able to do when we have it. Experienceit for yourself. God is waiting for you. Listen to what the Bible says, and not some "learned" person who will give you their "interpretation".

ok, if you lived in a part of the world where religion was never exposed then you would be just like kids who aren't of age, you would be sent to Heaven because just like kids who aren't at there age of accountability you can't make a reasonable relationship with God if you don't even know who he is. But I do believe that if you have been exposed to God and you are a good person but arent saved you will go to Hell.

You will NOT suffer for not being "exposed". I believe that if you are good to others and act as a kind human being, you will be able to go to heaven. Treat others as you would want to be treated. Not all religions believe in being "saved" so that doesn't mean that those people are not going to heaven. You can't be punished for not being exposed to an organized religion. Just be a good person and pray to God.

Yes, an unequivocal yes here.

God has written His law on everyone's(both believers and non-believers) hearts. If you lived in a very remote area unvisited by missionairies or ministers, you could still go to heaven. If you looked up at the heavens and recognized that Someone had to set that all in place and worshipped that Someone while trying to do right by the precepts (instincts?) of your own heart God would recognize that and honor you.

Note, I am not saying God is Allah, Buddha or Mohammed here. The tenets of each of those religions are too contradictory to be coming from one God. And when you stop to think about it, each of those religions demand waaaaay too high of a price to gain admittance to Heaven. God's grace is offered freely, no strings attached. All He asks is that each of try to live as Christ did. Something none of us can do, that's why it's called grace.

A good example to remember here, if you look in Romans Paul clearly stated that even though the Greeks and Romans had not received the Law, they still abided by moral codes.

Now if you have been offered the chance to accept Christ as Saviour and rejected it, that is a different can of beans.

There are two schools of thought on this one. The first seems to express that you will be judged on what you know, so your chances with that group is good. The other camp believes that there is no way but Christ to salvation.

I'm not sure where the first group gets the basis for their ideas, but the second group seems to cull theirs from the gospels and the New Testament in the Bible. In those texts it's accepted that the only true way to salvation is through acceptance in the sacrifice of Christ for our sins.

I love "what if" questions because the answer is usually quite easy... That's up to God!

And I mean that... nobody on earth could tell you that answer with any real legitimacy because we don't know.

The Bible tells us that you have to hear and believe. It also says that ALL people have an understanding of who God is. But if you are never "taught" about God you would obviously never be able to respond to Him. This holds true for mentally challenged people. But we can't say what God will hold those people accountable for. We only know what He will hold US accountable for. So don't get hung up in details about things you can't answer. Instead, ask yourself, do I know how to be a saving relationship with God? Am I? He will BLESS you!

My He do just that!!!

God does not care if or how many times you have been dunked in the holy water. Your faith and beliefs are between you and your God....it's no-one elses business. If you try to live a good life, ask fogiveness of others and feel remorse for your wrongdoings, then yes, if you believe in heaven you will go there.
