Sticking to what?

2007-02-23 09:46:50 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

If his tongue is always stciking out it means hes having a hard time breathing, cats usually use their nose to breathe

Mine had a cold and kept her tongue sticking out I hated it but she eventually stopped because she felt better

I'd take your cat in just to be sure about it, it could be nothing or it could be an oral infection of some kind

Good luck and hope all works out for ya

He may have some problems with his mouth(jaw and teeth included). If he's panting, then, yes you need air conditioning. XD
A lot of times a cat will just close her mouth on her tongue, and it'll stick out a tiny bit. Mine does it all the time. If he can't pull it back it, you should probably see a vet.

Cats stick their tongues out when they feel relaxed or when they need to pant. Although it is known that these animals do sweat through their paws it is only considered that they're only effective way to lower their body temperature is through panting. When they are panting they are known to stick their tongues out. This is a relaxing position for them and is not a serious problem you should worry about.

I dont mean to alarm you, but yes, I do think this is a medical condition, especially if your cat is very young. Cats tongues should always be very wet, on account of they use their tongues to clean themselves. So maybe you should take him or her to a vet. I wish you and your cat luck and I hope he or she will be OK.

Cats do this a lot, it's very cute and I just love it. If it really concerns you though, when he is taken to the vet point it out while your there. It could be possible that he has something wrong with his jaw, but either way, I've seen cats do it all the dime.

I take it you mean sticking out ?
this is ok. I have had many cats over the years and I would say about 1/4 of mine always did it. and they were healthy and the vet was never concerned.
I have no idea why they do it tho

No....the cats tongue sticks like that cause thats the anatomy of his or her tounge. The stickiness is actually tiny little suction cups on the tongue. How do you think they drink water and shat.....it needs to be like that so they can drink home slice.

The cat is just sweating, because the cat's sweat glands are on it's tongue. But you could go to the vet anyways.

My cat does that a lot as well, but most of the times he is just about to sneeze or yawn.
