If you're legally married, and live together, then she can stay. All she has to do is file an application with the Home Office. They'll give you one year at first, then check to see if you're still married, then you apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain.

She gets a stamp in her passport and you two live Happily Ever After.

I have a friend who is in the opposite shoes- he's British, and is here in the states with an American wife.

how about you move to be closer to her family, thats the best way to keep a wife. if you lived in america, how would you feel about living here and not being near your family and friends. know the saying, if the woman is happy everyone is happy, its pretty true. think about it from her point of view, you might be able to work it out by talking about it.

If you're British and you're married to her, just get her visa renewed. They're not going to send her back to the U.S.

Or are you talking about something other than legalities, like maybe she just wants to live in the U.S.?
