I mean there's this talent show and a broadway production coming up and I need a real good song...Im 16 and alto that can hit high notes everyone tells me there's a big oh' black woman ithat comes out when I sing ..lol..That I sing really soulful and I was wondering what I could sing I kinda have a Tamrya Gray voice it's strong and powerful..hmm..what should I sing?

Sing the song "On My Own" from LesMiserables. It's a very beautiful piece that is sure to touch anyone's heart who here's it.

u should definatly sing seasons of love from RENT. There is an amazing soprano part but the range is so wide if u think u cant reach the note u can take it down and no one will kno the dif. Good Luck!

You could probably do an Aretha Franklin song or an Ella Fitzgerald song if you think you could pull it off.

You could do a song from 'Aida', like 'Easy as life' or 'my strongest suit'. those are fun songs, and 'easy as life' is very belty and a good song for altos. there's other good songs from aida too, like: 'the past is another land', 'i know the truth', and 'the gods love nubia'.
