Would like to start running as I feel that this is a good way for me to trim down . I have been walking everyday for at least 6 months , I use my ab machine at least 3 times a week . I am losing inches and not pounds .

Thanks

Well start with a mile, and do that for about a week and then go a little further. Maybe a mile and a half, then just keep adding on. I did the same, and now I LOVE running. I have lost about 40 lbs since summer and have just been keeping in shape. Just take it a little further each time.

Take it slow. Start jogging at a steady pace that you feel comfortable with. Do that same pace for a couple weeks then go a little faster after that. Don't rush into anything your body can't handle and don't over do it. You're not running a marathon, you're just jogging. Sounds like you've got a good start since you've been walking for the past 6 months. Good luck. =D

Jogging is easy but make sure you don't place your toes first. Heel and then toe and make sure you stretch first. You are toning that's why you are loosing inches. If you want to loose pounds, then opt out for a lesser calorie diet like The Zone Diet or The Atkin's Diet and then you will see results.

Start jogging for very short periods of time each day. You can increase the time and distance when your body is more accustomed to it. Don't start running until you have jogging down for a while.
