Yes that was me, and yes you can, just call your vet to verify if you don't beleive me. Pregnant dogs get bitten by bees, snakes, and other poisonous creatures and have allergic reactions and benadryl or (dyphenhydramine) is always indicated. Think about this they sedate dogs for C-Sections which also sedates the puppies inside her. Benadryl does have sedative properties, but not near as much as anesthesia.

P.S. I wasn't advising you to give the benadryl I was advising you to go to the vet and let them do that, they know the correct doses and they would take into account the fact that she is pregnant. When you take it it just makes you drowsy right, it doesn't put you into a coma. Drowsy will not hurt those pups. just call your vet.

NO , no you cant. My girl friend gave her PG ***** 1 Benadryl and at the time of birth she passed 2-4 amniotic bags with no puppies attached. The dam was passing green goop 3 days after the birth of 4 live puppies. She took her to a repo vet who told her Antihistamines can cause the dam to abort the litter. The green goop was actually her reabsorbing the litter.

I've given my dogs benadryl on the advice of my veterinarians; they told my how much to give them, and it's a safe medication to use...HOWEVER....my dogs were NOT PREGNANT. Do the smart thing, and talk to your vet.

I have a pitbull lab he almost died due to sickness as puppy, I had no money staying at a friend's house. I gave him amoxicillin, once daily, opened the capsule, only used a small amount of powder inside. I also had to give him children's ibuprofen hee was about 5 months old, huge knot in his jaw. I nursed him back to health. You just have to be smart with it.

Yes, We prescribe benadryl (aka. dyphenhydramine) all the time at the vet I work at. Give your vet a call, they should confirm what I have said and give you a dose amount.

There are a bunch of things you should know about dog training but we are going to discuss what I feel are some the most important. Keep in mind that these are only some of the things you should know. Go here http://OnlineDogTraining.enle.info/?1a20

1. Repetition is the number 1 principle of dog training. Dogs just like humans learn by doing things over and over in order to get better.

2. Dog Training can and should be fun for both you and your new pet.

3. Training sessions should always be short but sweet. I never work a dog more than 15 minutes in a session to keep from losing the dog's attention. You should train you dog at least once a day but never more than three formal sessions a day.

4. Your goal should be that each training session is just a little bit better than the last one. You need to always strive to make the training better, slowly. I mention this because quite often I see people who do daily training sessions but the dog never gets better and it is not the dogs fault.

5. Having patients is very important in dog training. Losing your temper does not work with a canine it simply makes things worse.

6. Exercise is very important in the training process to get rid of all the dogs nervous energy.

7. Taking your pet for walks is very important because it develops serotonin which gives your dog a feeling of well being.

8. Always be sure to give your dog a bunch of praise in your training. It is your dog's paycheck for doing a great job.

9. Never hit your dog. I have heard people say I never hit my dog instead I roll up a magazine and swat it. It's the same thing... hitting is hitting.

10. After each training session be sure to do something that your dog will enjoy. Take it for a walk, throw the ball or maybe even rub its belly. Just do something that makes the dog look forward to the next training session.

These are things that I teach my dog training students as well as my dog training clients. I hope these things will give you something to think about when training your dog. Spend some time training your dog daily and you will both reap the benefits.

It is never safe to give animals human meds. I would call the vet and ask. I know we had an emergency for my Chihuahua and they told me I could give her a tiny dose of infant tylenol to help numb the pain until I got her to the vet, but that only once and not to use it ever again. (it is a long drive to the vet and she was really hurt) They said any human medicine can kill the animal.

No absolutely not. Not only will you give the mother dog the meds but it will go to the pups too. Benadryl will slow the pups heart rate down to a dangerous level may even cause some to die. If you are that worried then take her to the vets. You created the problem by giving her goats milk so don't try to fix it with human medicines.
