That Santa is real? I can tolerate if you're telling them about religious stuff that (only) in your own belief is known as truth, but Santa? 100% christians I know tell the lie. Isn't it a sin to lie about anything?

i_love_, ooo so that's why you have religion, to lie and believe will always be forgiven? No wonder religious people sin most.

I see Christians make a lot of excuses for their acts. It's your own book telling you liying is a sin.

If you observe, only the 'true' Christians call people idiot or ignorant just because we have different opinion. It's a genuine question why you lie when your religion not allowing you to lie.

I agree with you, I am a Christian but i will never tell my children that santa is real. It is lying, as u say, I mean, they will find out one day that he isnt, then they will think that everything else i told them isnt real (religious).

It is also silly, taking advantage of childrens vulnerable minds like that!

Santa IS real. You say you can "tolerate" what Christians say about the Christian religion, but you do not have the confidence in your own beliefs to reveal what your faith is. Is it possible your faith or lack of faith also has myths that support certain aspects of behavior? Santa is the representation of various virtues, and symbolizes that virtue is rewarded. The "magical" animals, ( different cultures use different animals that help Santa) are just a vehicle to teach children basic morals.
I am not sure which culture you are from, but many stories are taught to children in most cultures for the same reason.
Also, Santa is NOT a religious figure. Yes, the original story started with a Bishop, ( If I remember correctly)but the important part of him was his character, not his faith. Also, Many Christian holidays are tied to Pagan Holidays, for reasons to long and drawn out for this forum.
Do a little research, keep an open heart and mind, and thank you for the tolerance.

You can't be serious, it's a harmless childhood fantasy, actually arguing the existence of Santa is like argueing the existence of Dr. Seuss's the "The Cat in the Hat" or whether the Easter Bunny is a real person. Lighten up and enjoy Christmas, for what it is, a time to strengthen family ties, and make kids happy with gifts. Anti-Christians may not like the fact that Christians celebrate the holiday by worshipping Christ, but nobody's trying to convert you so at least be realistic in your attacks on Christianity. Maybe the Characters in the Wizard of Oz are Christian pagen religious figures too cause they melted the Witch or Harry Potter novels are an occult devil plot to condition kids to accept Satanism. Get real, they are stories, enjoy them for what they are, works of fiction.

If you want religion, go to Church, Santa Claus isn't a Christian religious figure, he's a sales representative for the toy companies.

ALL cultures and religions have indulged the fantasies of the young. These ancient customs and rituals have been continued in modern times because of the intense emotion and joy most normal (non-scarred) children get out to them. This has yet to be detrimental to grownups in later life. And I know Christians who don't do the Santa Claus thing, and many non-Christians who do. Are you so obnoxious to believe that YOUR culture or religion doesn't do this? Or are you so bold that you are forging a new way and leaving the rest of us behind??? What an un-joyful, overly serious, deadbeat person you sound like! Too bad for any kids who might be born to you!

I personally did not let my son believe in Santa clause. Reason being that I thought it would make him vulnerable to strangers. A person resembling Santa can easily take advantage of our children. As well, I did not let my son go door to door for trick or treat. I had taught my son to be careful of strangers. And, I did not want him to think that it was okay to talk to strangers for candies. Well, this is just my opinion.
Anyway, Santa Claus is a fun fairy tale as with many other fairy tales that can be fun to celebrate. Maybe it was safer long time ago but nowadays...well, we just have to be a bit more careful with what and how we celebrate our holidays. I think Christians and non Christians should think twice before allowing their children to think that Santa is real. I think it is important that children know that Santa Clause has nothing to do with Christmas.

100% tell the lie ... you obviously don't know many Christians. Having been surrounded by them for the past 10 years I can tell you that there are many, many Christians who didn't tell their children Santa is real and some who don't even celebrate Christmas as it's pagan.

Do you lie to your children?

I feel sorry for you, you sound so angry in your life you feel you're justified to attack Christians. The Bible is the truth, so I'm not going to debate you on that, I'd win anyway. But Santa, what is wrong with children believing in him? They're only children for so long, let them have that innocence and faith in someone who loves all the children over the world to give them gifts. Something Santa and God have in common, my dear. Why do you hate Santa so much, were you on his naughty list ?

Santa is alive in all of us...Santa is when a father or mother cares enough about their kids to let go of their wants long enough to get their kids what they want or need..I had people that cared enough for me when I was young to come and bring me gifts and dress up like Santa..I guess when you are putting those kind of things down you really need to look at your childhood and see that maybe your parents needed to be better parents...I am a christian and yes my kids did believe in Santa..But God looks at your heart and he knows what people mean. Thank Goodness God judges me and not man

Because to kids who are little you teach them the true meaning of Christmas and Santa makes it fun. Why are you being so grumpy? Its all fun. I remember my parents telling me that and when I found out it wasn't like I wanted to go plan world domination or anything.

I lie to my daughter all the time, but I don't teach her about Santa, or the tooth fairy, I just tell her that we don't have any more chocolate left, and that I am going to UPS her to Grandma's house if she doesnt start listening.

What does it matter to you? If a family wants to tell their children that santa is real than that is what they feel like telling their children. As long as they tell their children the true meaning of christmas than thats all that matters. And by the way Santa was a real person he was a man who delivered gifts to those who didnt have anything havent you ever heard of Saint Nicholas
