My hair is starting to fall out like crazy. I am in good health, but I did have major surgery on my jaw just over three months ago. I was under anesisia for four hours.Does that affect hair? Oh, and I do not dye my hair at all, but do straighten it occasionally.

Don't worry. It's very normal to have hair loss after surgery. Anthesia does cause hair loss (who would've known?). It temporarily stops the hair growth cycle. All you can do for now is to try to keep it (your hair) healthy. Take vitamins, especially Vitamin E. Also, try not to pull your hair back in tight ponytails often because that causes hair loss too. Everything will be okay and your hair will correct itself soon enough!

are you on any medication? that could definitely affect hair loss, as well as just getting over the stress and whatnot of surgery. straightening your hair would not make it fall out, so it must be somehow related to the surgery. just like after having a child, women suffer from postpartum alopecia, which is a certain type of hair loss, just because of all the changes the body is going through, and that can last anywhere from 6 months to a year, sometimes even more. so just wait maybe a couple for months or so, and if it doesn't get any better, maybe go see a hair specialist, and see what they say.

The average woman loses so many hairs a day, but added stress and possibly surgery (meds and what not) have affected it also. i would call my doctor or the assistant and just ask if there's a side affect to any of it. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. take some additional vitamins.....i know this sounds funny but people say that prenatal vitamins, even if you're not pregnant, worked wonders for hair and nails.

stop using heat and chemicals in ur hair.
massage with warm cocunut oil brand name parachute:

Using the pads of your fingers, apply the oil little by little to different parts of your scalp, parting your hair as needed. Also work some oil along the length of your hair. Then, using the pads of your fingers, work the oil into your scalp, using circular motions. Slow, deliberate movements are relaxing while steady but vigorous movement helps enhance energy and circulation. Cover your entire scalp, all the way down the sides to your ears and at the back to your neck. Leave the oil on for at least 30-60 minutes, longer if you can. If you like, you can dip a towel in hot water, wring it out, and wrap it around your head after your massage for added conditioning and softening of hair. You can even leave the oil on overnight—place a thick towel over your pillow to protect your linens. u can use shikakai powder as a shampoo

it could be because of stress. try giving your self a good conditioner treatment.
here's how:
1. go and consult with a beautician on what kind of conditioner is best to use.
2. shampoo your hair, rinse with warm water(to open hair folicles) then condition, leave in hair for 2-3 minutes, rinse with cool water to close the folicles and trap vitamins in. towel dry hair.

1. shampoo hair and rinse. apply large amount of conditioner to hair. massage onto hair and scalp. cover hair with plastic shower cap or clip a pastic bag on your head. use hair dryer over plastic for up to 15 minutes. rinse hair with cool water. towel dry.
<><><><><><><>IF THAT DON'T WORK<><><><><><><>
1. go to an indian grocery market and buy a bottle of mustard oil.
2. massage it on to hair and scalp. leave on for 30 minutes.
3. shampoo, rinse, condition, rinse, and towel dry.
~ the oil will make your hair shiny and strong and it enhances growth like u won't believe. use it about once or twice a week. i do this and i haven't had a hair cut since april 2006. and i still don't have a single split end.

Start taking 2.5mg Biotin and a moderate dose of B vits, including B-12. It will take a month or two to notice any major changes, but it will help. You might also try V05 with B-12.

Either because you are stressed or you need to take vitamins. Try taking a multi vitamin once a day. Straightening your hair should not make it fall out.

is there a certain way you sleep in your head? because that can pull at the hair and make it fall out...also wearing it in the same style all the time can do damage etc.

straightening shouldn't make your hair fall out unless you're pulling really hard...

as for anesisia I don't know. I'm not a doctor. sorry.

Repeated chemical and heat uses on your hair can dry out the scalp and wear out the outer shaft of your hair, causing your hair to fall out. It is also caused by even washing it too much. (Funny, huh?) Brushing it to much, pulling it, or wearing it in tight styles can aslo cause it to fall out. In severe cases, a disease called Alopecia areata. However, I highly doubt this is the cause. I would reccommend seeing a doctor.

Good Luck ;)

I no way it falling out it's because you are not taking care of it like you need to and your hair is like a plant if you don't gave a plant water it will. What you write me back and tell me what you think the plant will do?
