The Nicest thing a girl could do for her boyfriend would be to take 24 hours out of her day and spend the entire day making it memorable for him with all the little things that make him happy.

It's all in the little things and consistency. Don't just do one nice thing, mix it up and do something nice regularly. I'll treat my boyfriend to dinner by not telling him until the check comes -- he loves that, especially if we've ordered everything from appetizers to beer/wine and dessert. Or it could be picking up his favorite ice cream while at the grocery store, surprising him with concert tickets for a group you know he likes, giving him a massage without his asking, taking him to a place he has mentioned but you haven't gotten around to seeing/trying yet (museum, restaurant, etc.). a backrub when I'm stressed. cook my favorite meal. take my out to MY favorite place/event (sports or museum). Buy me something for my collection (whatever he collects: rocks, star wars action figures, my little pony, Rembrandt's). Send me a card in the mail. Watch my favorite movie with me and pretend you like it.
People need love in different ways: some want attention, some want time your, some want you to buy them things and some just want to hear you tell them that you care about them.

Seriously though, if she just pays attention to who the guy is, and what is going on in his life, she should be able to come up with lots of ways to show that she cares for him.

I'm a simple guy with simple tastes.for me it would just be my gf sitting down beside me looking into my eyes & saying " i love you honey with all my heart, i don't ever want to lose you." That's worth 1000 presents or meals or holidays!
