What makes a person interesting or compelling?

I've met people that have had interesting lives, but are boring people. But I've also met people that have average lives and they are very interesting and compelling. What is it in a person that maskes them mysterious and compelling. An interesting person that you want to know more?

I would have to say that it has a lot to do with spontaneity other than just your own perceptions of someone else and whether they are make any contradictions about themselves. I have also met some very interesting people like you have, but I often find, it is the more reserved ones that seem to have a lot more going on inside but just are a lot quieter about it maybe?. I think someone who keeps you guessing and can never satisfy your curiosity is fascinating too.

I am drawn and fascinated by people who are slightly eccentric and unpredictable in some way or those who seem like they have something to say but they just keep you wondering and because it keeps me on my toes. I am also a little inconsistent at times and that is what most people find compelling and interesting such as the tall dark and handsome stranger who is the silent type people are always talking about.

I think compelling people are in some way frequently changeable and without necessarily showing their mood. You can see the potentiality in them to be everything they are capable of being. Just being different or quirky isn't quite enough to constitute what is considered interesting. A person's psychology is only deep when they have experienced some form of trauma for instance and have survived through developing different behaviors and or characters as coping strategies. I used to always attract men who were messed up but could equally love.

I think anything out of natural sync is fascinating like a tilted lamp or people from Scandinavian countries are very interesting!.

It is the persseption of the observer, because it is the observer that finds things interesting or compelling. Now that does not mean that the observe cannot change the image the observer sees, but the observe cannot change how the observe chooses to see the observe.

I think if they are articulate, have a sense of humor, passion for life, have and show empathy. Well rounded.
