I'm wondering if Maldon sea salt is uniodized

If it is iodized, it will say so on the packaging

If you have an aquarium, you probably know that iodine is poisonous to fish although it is a necessary nutrient in small quantities for human thyroid functioning. Sea salt may have trace amounts of naturally occurring iodine, but it is basically not iodized. Iodine is added to iodized salt and would be required to be listed on the label.

Typically, sea salt does not contain any added iodine. If it does, the label must say so.
An aside: sodium iodide (NaI) is added as a supplement to salt to reduce the risk of iodine deficiency, a serious problem that can lead to problems with fetal and childhood development.

No, it is all natural and an excellent replacement for standard table salt. Table salt tastes alot stronger, and sea salt is much more mellow. All I ever use is fine sea salt for cooking and especially baking.

Actually, I thought the iodine was an additive so, unless it said iodized, then it has none added.

no im pretty sure its iodized. The web site below sells Maldon, Im sure you can call them and ask (800)353-7258.

I have no clue. i think its iodized but just ask a civillian that might know it because you might get alot of answers so just go with what you think
