Aluminum alloy. It is public knowlege and this information is made available for safety reasons in case a 747 catches fire or crashes. It is not a military secret.

The 747 is made out of the same material as 99% as all airplanes... specially treated aluminum.

All large passenger aircraft have pretty much the same skin. Inside the skin is a different story. The structure to which the skin is attached is made of titanium, aluminum, and steel.

The newest and most state-of-the-art aircraft, the 787 "Dreamliner" from Boeing, actually has a "Composite" fuselage. Meaning, the skin of the aircraft is made of carbon fiber, which is lighter and stronger than aluminum and will result in significant savings in fuel and maintenance. Except for some major improvements in the engines and other systems, the rest of the aircraft is pretty much the same.

The majority of the 747 body[fuselage] is largely made of various alloys of aluminum. This includes all structural members and the skin that covers this framework. All of the many thousands of rivets and fasteners are also aluminum. Some steel is used in certain areas that require extra strength. The fairings that blend the wings to the fuselage are made of glassfibre.Newer versions of the 747 employ carbon fibre sections to replace certain areas where aluminum was used in earlier versions.
