First start her off with a like 10 foot rope. Tie her onto it and walk otut o the end of the rope. Tell her to come (and make it loud and playfull) if she doesn't come right away start reeling her in. Then when she gets to u give her a treat and praise her ALOT. When she masters that at that distance make it longer . And then when u think she can handle it take her off the leash and try. But make sure u do all this in an enclosed are in your house. Then u can start introducing distractions and moving to another room in the house. But i would also work on sit and stay as soo as possible. But rememer since she is a puppy work with her for 30 min. at a time and then when your done with each interval have a play time. U can do 30 min. probably around 3 times a day if u want. Also remeber not to get frustrated with her, and if u feel like your getting frustrated stop training immediately because she will sense your frustration and then associate what you r trying to do with frustration and not want to do it.
Hope this helps!!!!
Any more ??? u can contact me at

Your dog should not be offleash in an open area if you don't have "come" mastered. Period.

To teach this, start indoors. Use a favoured treat. Say "come". Show the treat. When the dog comes, treat. Repeat three times. On the fourth, try just saying "come" (not showing the treat). If the dog comes, continue to practice this religiously every day until it is second nature. If he doesn't, start from the beginning. May take him/her a few sessions to catch on.

When he/she comes consistently, try it outdoor on a lead or with a friend as a helper. When she is successful, practice this in places with lots of distraction, the park for example.

This is the most important thing for you to teach your dog as it may save his/her life.

eventually take the leash off and see if your dog comes

for in the yard

stand in the middle of the yard(dog may not want to come it)
and command your dog to come

practice this

The more you chae her around, the more she thinks it is play time.

You not only need to teach her to come, you need to take her to obedience school. She needs to know lots of things, and now is the perfect time to teach her. Check with your local pet store and see if they have classes, or if there are classes near you.

I think you should sit down with your dog at least three times a week and along with teaching her voice commands teach her hand signals. I did this with my puppy and it really helped.

Teach her how to sit first. Then when she runs call her name and tell her to sit. Then move to stay, then come. It's easy ten minutes a day is all requires.

You really don't need to teach a dog to come. If it's not fixed, just let him ride your leg for awhile and let nature take it's course.
