I think. They are people who wait outside of recruting offices and try to convince you not to join the military. I will tell you one thing about the military, they will lie to you and they can cheat you out of money that they promise. I know because they did that to my brother who joined the army. Also when they tell you that you have a certain amount of time you have to be in the army they can change that with a thing called stop loss. My brother was supposed to be in the army for only two years but he ended up staying there for 4 years. They offered him no mental support and the shrinks that he did see at the vetrans hall when he got home had know knolege of war and were not vetrans. He is now a danger to society, the army is very good at teaching you to kill but they will not teach how to shut it off. My brother went to iraq with the first calvery 4-5 ADA

As a liberal, and the proud mother of a Sailor, I find it abhorrent that there would be any sort of group acting as "counter recruiters."

Choosing to be of service to our country is not a political statement. It is one of citizen honor. A Soldier/Sailor/Marine does not serve to protect only red or only blue countrymen. They defend and protect the whole of The United States and its constitution.

There will be some who may not have made the cut to serve, and are bitter. Label them as you wish, but I would guess there is more than left or right party leanings that motivate their actions.

You were wise to question the actions of this "guy". It shows that you are taking this commitment seriously, and want to enter military life with your eyes wide open.

I'm already proud of you!

I'm not sure but don't be deterred. There is nothing more noble in my opinion that serving your country. There are still quite a few of us out here that think highly of people like you. Just ignore the media and the democrat party and do your thing. God Bless ya.
