and he did not turn up and we phoned him and he said he only just come in from work, well he could of phoned her and she feels everso let down. it was only nine and he said he was too tired to come out its not nice. i feel guilty cos i set them up, she is at home with the kids and carn,t get out much to meet someone, how do i cheer her up

first of all wasnt your fault dude didnt show up... let her know you feel bad but dont let her blame herself too cuz you know there aint nuthin wrong w your friend im sure of its just the JERK that dont know how to call nobody you know? take her out to dinner or even go hang w her.... let her know its got nothin to do with her...

At least he was rude from the beginning instead of leading her on. The hurt she feels right now is much less than if he had stood her up after dating for a few months. Tell her that it is his loss and that if he had any idea of what he was missing out on- he would be the one who was sad!

I think you should stop setting her up on blind dates as the majority of the time they end up in disater. You should wait until the kids are in bed, get a bottle of wine, chocolates and a great DVD and go and have a giggle!!

Tell her you are glad that the jerk showed is true colors and your good friend did not waste her time. Somethings happen when they need to happen. Having a good friend like you is very important and I am sure you make her happy. Do not feel bad your intentions were noble.

Is she really tight on money? Why not take care of her kids for a day while she goes to get her hair cut and maybe her nails done? She will feel better about herself after that.

This is not your fault at all...you should not feel guilty however I do understand that you feel responsible for the set up...but if anything this stupid dude should feel bad.
